STEM Week - A Week of Science, AI, and 3D Fun for Grade 1!

What a wonderful week it has been for our Grade 1 students! They had a splendid set of experiences exploring science, technology, and creativity. The children began the week by performing hands-on science experiments. They learned about static electricity by rubbing a balloon on wool and watching it attract an aluminum can—just like magic! They also created a rainbow with Skittles, testing which water temperature made the colors spread faster. Next came the Oobleck Challenge, where our young scientists tried to rescue toy dinosaurs from a quicksand-like mixture of cornstarch and water. Everyone giggled as they discovered the strange substance that’s both solid and liquid! They ended their science adventures with a boat-building activity, crafting shiny aluminum foil boats and seeing how many marbles each could carry before sinking. To top it all off, the class was inspired by Mr. Alex, an expert who shared fascinating insights about Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Mr. Yan, who led a hands-on 3D printing workshop. The students were amazed to see how ideas can become real objects through technology. It was truly a week full of fun, learning, and discovery—a perfect blend of curiosity and creativity!
