Culture Day Celebration: Embracing Diversity and Unity

Many Cultures. One Home. This is the theme for this year's Culture Day celebration. Our school’s annual Culture Day was a vibrant and meaningful celebration of diversity, unity, and global friendship. The festivities began with an exciting parade where students proudly wore traditional costumes representing countries such as Japan, China, Spain, Germany, Canada, New Zealand, India, Brazil, Australia, Austria, the Philippines, South Africa, America, South Korea, Ethiopia, England, Thailand, and many more. Each student also carried their country’s flag as they paraded around the campus, filling the school with color and excitement. After the parade, everyone had the chance to explore food booths offering delicious dishes and delicacies from around the world. The aromas of international cuisines created a lively atmosphere that truly brought out the spirit of cultural appreciation. The program that followed showcased the incredible talents of both students and teachers. There were energetic dance numbers, heartfelt songs, and even a fun magic show. The Grade 1 students captured everyone’s hearts with their sweet rendition of “I Have But a Small Voice.” A group of girls also performed Pokemon Dance. This lovely performance left the audience with a big smile on their faces showing that they enjoyed every single moment of the shows. Another confident group of students from Grade 1 also showed their traditional New Zealand dance called, 'Poi'. The day concluded with two captivating guest performances. The first was a traditional Indian dance group whose synchronized hand, head, and feet movements left the audience in awe. The final performance featured an artist who presented “Ichigo Ichie”—a Japanese expression meaning “One Time, One Meeting”—reminding everyone to cherish each unique moment shared together. Our Culture Day celebration was not only entertaining but also a wonderful reminder of how beautiful it is when different cultures come together in harmony.
