After exploring how objects move, Grade 1s went further to understanding the science behind it. They now get to know the word FORCE as a power that push or pull. Through a series of experiments we did, Grade 1s got the chance to fill in their inquiring minds about gravity, buoyancy, friction, air resistance and magnetism.
The first experiment they did is the paper fall. They dropped 2 flat paper to the ground at the same time and found out that both paper reached the ground at almost the same time too. Then they crumpled one of the paper and again dropped the two - one flat and one crumpled - to the ground. This time, the crumpled paper reached the ground first, while the other one glided a bit before it reached the ground.
Then they also tested different objects on water and found out which objects will sink and which ones will float.
Then they used different paper of different texture to check where the toy car will run the fastest.
Lastly, they used magnets and find objects that will stick to it.
