Our Grade 1 learners have been busy unpacking some big and sometimes tricky words from our new Unit of Inquiry, “Humans use their understanding of science and machines to make work easier.” Together, we explored what “science,” “machines,” and “work” really mean in our daily lives.
They first looked for formal meanings of the words using the computers. then we revisited the words and the meanings they collected, and tried our very best to come up with a simple but correct meaning so all of us can easily understand them.
