Lichterkinder - Sankt Martin

Lichterkinder auf dieser Erde Leuchten wie Sterne am Himmelszelt So wie Sankt Martin schenken sie Freude In alle Herzen auf dieser Welt "Children of light on this earth", this is what Lichterkinder means in English. Today is the Feast Day of St. Martin of Tours. We commemorate his life and his goodness.We celebrate this day by parading while carrying lanterns, as we would like to remind the children that they are the light of this Earth. The celebration started with a short description of the life of St. Martin of Tours, followed by a short play and a parade, and it was concluded with sharing of bread and some warm tea. It was a nice day indeed!
