Exploring Life in the Past

This week, Grade 1s became very busy with researching information about the daily life of people in the Stone Age time and ancient past. They watched the movie, The Croods which is about the life of a family who lived during the Stone Age era. They looked into the clothes they wore, the food they ate, the materials they used, the houses they had, and others. Then, they chose an area of interest and gathered information about it this time focusing on the ancient past. They used books and child-friendly videos as their sources of information. They shared the information they got to the class. Next week, they will explore the recent past and conduct an interview with the parents to learn about how their daily lives had been when they were still a child. We will also have a one day simulation of school in the past. This is going to be done next Friday.
