In Literacy this week, the Grade 1s explored the first part of speech on the list, NOUNS. They learned that nouns are actually names of people, places,objects, events and others. Nouns are categorized into two big groups: Proper Nouns and Common Nouns. Proper Nouns are proper or specific names of people, objects, places, events and others, and must be capitalised. On the other hand, Common Nouns are common or general names of people, objects, places, events and others, and are written in lowercase.
