For the past two weeks, Grade 1s worked on sharing what they know about food, where they come from and how they think the food is transported form the source to the supermarket. This week, they worked on finding facts, the actual steps that food undergo from the source to the supermarket.
In teams, they looked for resource videos to get facts. They took notes by writing and/or drawing the steps. They are working on presenting their outputs to the class.
A few aha moments came out such as the safety precautions that are done to keep food edible, the process of cleaning the meat, as well as sorting out which fruits/vegetable are not to be delivered to the shops.
After sharing their work, we will reflect on the process and ask ourselves the big WHY to make meaning to our findings.
