Grade Light Explorers

Our Grade 1 learners had such an exciting time this week exploring the magic of light through fun, hands-on experiments. With lots of curiosity and creativity, they discovered how black light affects certain objects, experimented with shadows to create shapes, and played with coloured lights to make beautiful coloured shadows. The children were especially fascinated by the black light activity. They loved observing how some objects glowed while others did not, and they were eager to share their ideas about what was happening. It was a lovely opportunity for them to notice, predict, and talk about their observations as little scientists. They also enjoyed being creative with shadows. By using their hands and different objects, they discovered how to make interesting shapes on the wall. They learned that shadows change depending on where the light is placed and how an object blocks it. This turned science into a playful and imaginative experience. One of the highlights was exploring coloured lights. When red, green, and blue lights were used together, the learners were amazed to see coloured shadows appear. Their excitement made the classroom feel full of wonder, laughter, and discovery. It was a joyful learning experience that helped the children understand that light can be explored in many creative ways. Most of all, it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, teamwork, and happiness as they learned through play.
