A Day of Stories and Imagination

Our Grade 1 students had a truly magical and memorable day filled with creativity, imagination, and storytelling! The excitement began as the children came to school dressed as their favorite book characters. From classic heroes to whimsical creatures, the hallways were transformed into a colorful parade of stories brought to life. With big smiles and confident steps, the students proudly showcased their costumes as they paraded through the school. A special highlight of the day was meeting the renowned author and illustrator, Satoshi Kitamura. During his engaging workshop, the students explored his delightful story, What’s Wrong With My Hairstyle? Inspired by the book, the children unleashed their creativity by designing their own imaginative hairstyles through simple artwork. Each piece reflected their unique ideas, resulting in a vibrant display of originality and fun. In the afternoon, the storytelling continued with a special reading of Pippi Longstocking by the German Consul General, Melanie Saxinger. The students listened attentively as they were introduced to the adventurous and carefree Pippi, a girl who lives life on her own terms, free from rules and conventions. The story sparked laughter, curiosity, and thoughtful reflections among the young listeners. A Day of Stories and Imagination To end the day on a joyful note, the Grade 1 students joined the school community in enjoying a variety of delicious food and drinks. It was a wonderful celebration of stories, creativity, and togetherness—an unforgettable experience for everyone involved!
