This week, Grade 1s became busy with assembly and spent this week practising their lines, coming up with steps for the dance and working together as a team to complete the role play. These things happening on top of the learning sessions we had. Apart from being busy, Grade 1s still got the chance to sharpen their IT skills. Through the help of our IT Coordinator, Mr. Huber, the Grade 1s explored the Apitor Robot.
Apitor robots help Grade 1 students learn by playing, building, and moving a real object they can see and touch.
The key benefits of the Apitor for Grade 1 students are the following:
• Develop fine motor skills by snapping blocks together and handling small pieces.
• Build early problem‑solving skills as they follow simple steps to make the robot work.
• Encourage creativity and imagination when children design or customize their own robot models.
• Introduce basic coding ideas with simple drag‑and‑drop blocks in the app, showing cause and effect (e.g., “if I tap this, the robot moves”).
• Increase interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) by making these subjects fun, active, and playful at an early age
